(New York, NY) — Mayor Eric Adams will kick off the first ever National Urban Rat summit today. The focus will be to learn about how to control and manage the rat population which has been a big problem in the Big Apple over the years. There will be presentations from researchers and experts in cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Adams says the two-day summit will zero in on a framework for urban rat mitigation challenges, including in parks, sewers, public housing and trash containerization.
Neighbors in the Norwood section of the Bronx say they will be watching the get together very closely. They have the highest number of rat complaints called into 311 in the city.
