(Mar-a-lago, FL) – After two assassination attempts, there are enhanced safety measures around the South Florida estate of former President Donald Trump.
Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw says the security level at Mar-a-Lago is the highest it could ever be following the assassination attempt against Trump over the weekend. Road closures along South Ocean Boulevard are back in place as an extra layer of safety. The street is located less than five miles from Trump International Golf Course, where Sunday’s alleged attempt took place.
Meanwhile, several Republican senators are telling the Secret Service to increase the Republican Presidential nominee’s security. Florida’s Rick Scott and Marco Rubio are among them. A letter sent September 17th to Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe and signed by the eight U.S. Senators demands that Trump be designated as a protectee with the same level of resources provided to a sitting president. They’re also giving Rowe ten days to respond to several questions including what additional protective resources were allocated following the first assassination attempt two months ago.
