(New York, NY) — Mayor Adams says he continues to do the work of the city as a series of investigations involving his inner circle swirls around him. Over the weekend, Adam’s chief counsel called it quits. Lisa Zornberg reportedly resigned because the mayor did not take her advice to fire the administration officials being investigated.
Now a city council member says Mayor Adams is too distracted by the investigations to do his job properly. Councilwoman Tiffany Caban is the first lawmaker to call on Adams to resign. The Queens lawmaker says the FBI investigations, along with a failure of leadership are reasons Adams should step down.
Mayor Adams says his inner circle members have not been accused of any wrong doing. He says he has not done anything wrong and will not step down.
