(Sag Harbor, NY) — Justin Timberlake is due in a Long Island courtroom Friday after reaching a plea deal in his DWI case and now the Suffolk County District Attorney is denying the pop star is getting special treatment. The “Sexy Back” singer blew through a stop sign in Sag Harbor back in June, failed a field sobriety test, refused to take a breathalyzer and police say reeked of alcohol. But Timberlake denied driving drunk, said he’d had just one martini, and now his DWI charge is being dropped. He’s admitting to a traffic violation instead: Driving While Ability Impaired. It’s a misdemeanor and he’ll be fined three to five-hundred-dollars. Ray Tierney, the Suffolk D-A, insists Timberlake is being treated just like anyone else.
