(New York, NY) — Prostitutes can be seen walking Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights, Queens again, and neighbors and business owners are asking the city to come in and sweep them out again. Local merchants say crowds of shoplifters make their way up and down the avenue too. Neighbors say open drugs sales take place on street corners in the middle of the day.
Business owners say they are reporting the crimes to police, but they have not seen an uptick in cops walking Roosevelt Avenue. The NYPD took down prostitution parlors in Jackson Heights back in January, but neighbors say some of the parlors have come right back.
