(Springfield, OH) – A wild moment unfolded during the Tuesday night presidential debate hosted by ABC.. While discussing the porous southern border and the Biden administration’s immigration policy, former President Trump said migrants are notably eating wild animals and pets in Ohio. Immediately, ABC News’ David Muir said they looked into those claims and found they weren’t true.
But who is saying they aren’t true? Apparently, a spokesperson from a town in Ohio. Now, the Federalist and the New York Post are reporting there is a recorded 911 call showing others are raising similar claims. A man called a dispatcher on his way to work two weeks ago and said a group of what appeared to be Haitian migrants were taking away geese.
It’s also worth noting that amid the gang-violence and civil war-like conditions in Haiti, tens of thousands of migrants have been moved into Springfield, Ohio — which has a population of 58,000 as of 2022. Some estimates say as many as 20,000 Haitian migrants are currently living in Springfield.
For obvious reasons, the claims of people eating geese and ducks are controversial. But even more distressing is the thought that people’s pets could be harmed — like dogs and cats. A video on social media purports to show police speaking with a woman who had taken a neighbor’s cat and eaten it.
