(New York, NY) — Volunteers across New York City are honoring those lost on 9/11 with a day of public service. In Queens, Hunger Free America has organized a week of service for those dealing with food insecurity. One volunteer pointed out how 9/11 changed the world and how people came together.
Across the country Americans continue to use the 9-11 anniversary as a day to give back. Over one-thousand volunteers are helping today at the Atlanta Community Food Bank. They’ll be packing up half-a-million meals at the Georgia State Convocation Center.
Both President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are attending the 9/11 ceremony in Lower Manhattan. Former President Donald Trump is also taking part. Security is extra tight at the World Trade Center site as it is every year during the city’s commemoration.
