(Undated) — Researchers in China say they’ve found a link between cellphone use and an increased risk of heart disease. They attribute that to poor sleep and psychological stress and say the risk is greater among smokers and diabetics. But before you silence your phone, it’s worth noting that the study of more than 400-thousand middle-aged adults was done nearly 20 years ago when”regular” cellphone use consisted of making or receiving just one call a week. Today, with the widespread use of cellphones for text messaging, emailing, social media and watching entertainment, it’s unclear how relevant this study really is. That’s what an editorial says in the Canadian Journal of Cardiology where the Chinese study is published.
