(Winder, GA) — Two 14-year old students and two teachers were killed and eight students along with one teacher were hospitalized following a school shooting in Georgia.  It happened just as classes were getting underway Wednesday at Apalachee High School, which was put on lockdown. Medial helicopters and a large law enforcement presence responded to the scene. The suspect, a 14-year-old student, has been identified as Colt Gray. He is in custody after surrendering to police, and will be charged as an adult.

Just before 11:30 a.m. students were released to their families. According to the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were on the scene around 10:30 a.m.

Federal officials have revealed that Gray made online threats to commit a school shooting back in May of 2023
