(Bedminster, NJ) – Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance and his opponent on the Democratic side, Tim Walz, are set to face off in a televised debate scheduled for October 1st. The Ohio Senator officially accepted the invitation from CBS today, the day after the Minnesota governor also agreed to the event.

Vance was not stopping there, he also announced he accepted the invitation from CNN for an additional debate. There is no word if the Harris camp has agreed to that second debate. Walz has said at campaign events that he can’t wait to take on Vance.

Former President Donald Trump and Vance will be in the tri-state region later today. Trump invited reporters for his second news conference in the past two weeks. Trump is trying to match the excitement of the Democrats as the party prepares for their national convention in Chicago next week. Trump will address the crowd at 4:30pm from his golf course in Bedminster.
