Will We See Snoop at the Winter Olympics?

(Paris) – During the Paris Winter Olympics, hip hop legend Snoop Dogg has been a major presence during NBC’s coverage. The rapper, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., is a California native. He’s been spotted meeting with family members of athletes, and providing analysis alongside Mike Tirico from the studio.

Now it sounds like Snoop Dogg will be back in 2026 as part of NBC’s Winter Olympics coverage. According to The Athletic, two different NBC Universal executives said “yes” when asked if Snoop will join for the Milano-Cortina Games. NBC Sports’ president has called Snoop “enthusiastic” and adds having him bac in any capacity would be a “thrill.”

The Milano-Cortina Olympics will be held in February 2026. It will be costly to bring back Snoop Dogg, as he is rumored to be earning $500,000 per day from NBC. That said, the network has to be pleased with its Summer Olympic ratings — during the first five days of the games, including the opening ceremony — viewership checked in at 34 million. That was up 79% from the same time period during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, per NBC Sports’ numbers. Tokyo was the lowest-ever rated summer Olympics. And the Winter Olympics in Beijing 2022 had even lower numbers.

Experts have said the use of celebrities during programming — like Kelly Clarkson, Peyton Manning, and Snoop Dogg — have benefited the ratings.
