(New York, NY) — A woman who was learning to drive Monday evening, jumped the curb in her truck in Hamilton Heights and slammed into two people on the sidewalk. The unnamed female driver then hit a UPS truck and a fire hydrant. The accident took place around 5 p.m. near West 148th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue. A man who was in the car with the driver says he was teaching her how to parallel park when she hit the gas instead of the brake.

Witnesses say the truck was moving so fast that the two men hit on the sidewalk never had a chance to get out of the way. They were rushed to Harlem Hospital in stable condition. It’s uncleear if the driver had a permit, or if she will face any charges.
