(Riverhead, NY) — The accused Gilgo Beach serial killer is due back in court today on Long Island. It’ll be Rex Heuermann’s first court appearance since June 6th when the New York City architect was charged with two more murders. That brings the total to six women, mostly sex workers and includes the “Gilgo Four” discovered in 2010 bound and covered in burlap on Gilgo Beach. The dismembered remains of earlier victims were recently found in the Manorville Pine Barrens. The 61-year-old Heuermann, who’s from Massapequa Park, has pleaded “not guilty” to all six murders and is a suspect in a seventh.
