News: Christopher Wray testifies in front of congress regarding the budget for the FBI
(Washington, D.C.) — FBI Director Christopher Wray was telling lawmakers in Washington, D.C on Wednesday that they still have many unanswered about assassination attempt on former President Trump. The FBI is investigating the shooting as a potential act of domestic terrorism, but has not yet determined the gunman’s motive.
Wray revealed that the 20-year-old gunman flew a drone about 200 yards from the staging area, hours before Trump spoke at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13th. He believes the gunman was likely livestreaming and viewing the footage from the drone. The FBI leader says two explosive devices were retrieved from the shooter’s vehicle, and a third was found at his home. Wray called the shooting an “attack on our democracy” and said the nation is currently in “an elevated threat environment.”
