(Clifton, NJ) – A truck driver was killed on Monday in New Jersey when it was rear-ended by a bus. It happened shortly before 9:00 AM in Clifton, on Route 3, near the convergence with Route 46. Images and videos posted to social media show a massive fireball that resulted at one point. Also, a concrete barrier was destroyed when the truck crashed through it.
Originally, the hope had been that injuries were avoided, but later the truck driver was discovered dead. In addition, the siding of a nearby home was melted amid the intense flames that resulted. Several homes had to be evacuated.
The expectation is that road closures could remain in effect for an extended period — and the entire thing will take a while to clean up, as well.
