(Milwaukee, WI) — Former President Donald Trump is calling for unity. Trump accepted the Republican nomination for president Thursday night at the Republican national Convention in Milwaukee, and spoke out against political division in his first speech since an assassin tried to shoot him at a campaign rally last weekend. Trump also called on Democrats to drop the criminal cases against him, which he called “partisan witch hunts.”
Trump will appear at a rally in Michigan Saturday alongside his new Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance. The event in Grand Rapids will mark the first joint campaign event for the two since they accepted their respective nominations this week at the Republican National Convention.
