(New York, New York) Heat advisories and warnings are still taking effect over the city with temperatures expecting to reach and exceed 100 degrees. There’s a heat advisory in effect until Wednesday night with no relief in sight until Thursday when a cold front moves in bringing temps back into the 80’s through at least Monday.
Tuesday will be the hottest day of the week and is expected to tie with July 8th for the hottest day of the summer so far with temps in the mid to upper 90’s, but it will feel like triple digits. New York Officials are urging people to stay hydrated, stay out of the sun and keep pets indoors except for short walks in the early part of the day and evening. New Yorkers aren’t completely out of luck though, the option of cooling centers across the city still exists for anyone in need, at no cost.
