(New York, New York) – A City budget worker in Mayor Adam’s office found himself suspended without pay from his $112k/year job for two weeks after an anti-Trump post on his Instagram. Tyler Barbieri, an analyst within the Office of Management of Budget posted an orange screen on his Instagram story with a line reading the words, “Too bad he missed” after the attempted Trump assassination. On X, users are calling for the worker to be fired saying he’s calling for political violence.
Berbieri has since deleted the post and deleted other social media accounts. A spokesperson for Adams said, “We are aware that a mid-level employee made an inappropriate social media post about the tragic event that took place on Saturday in Pennsylvania. Condoning gun and political violence, even in jest, is unacceptable and inconsistent with our values.”
