(New York, NY) — Twenty-Two Stop and Shop Supermarkets in New York City and its suburbs will close for good in the next four months, the company announced Friday. The supermarket chain is shutting 32-underperforming stores in the tri-state, as well as stores in Rhode Island and the company’s home state of Massachusetts. 8-stores will close in New York, including the one on Coney Island. 10-New Jersey stores are on the block, including both Edison locations. 5-stores in Connecticut, including the one on Main Street in Stamford, will also close by November 2nd.
