NJ Transit: Back on Track

(New York/New Jersey) – The North Jersey Coast Line rail sector of NJ Transit has resumed this morning after closures in both directions coming after signal problems at the Raritan River Drawbridge Thursday. The River Draw Bridge goes over the Raritan River between Perth Amboy and South Amboy, a crucial crosspoint that allows NJ Transit trains to travel up and down the Jersey shore.

The line serves 10,000 riders daily and disruptions like this causes problems for many riders in their daily commutes in and out of the city. This summer, riders have faced more nightmare commutes than ever, and they’re getting tired of it. As a bonus, NJ Transit commuters had to face their fares jumping up 15% starting July 1st. Will NJ Transit ever figure it out?
