(New York, New York) – AT&T said on Friday that a data breach managed to leak records of calls and texts for ‘nearly all’ of its customers. The data leaked just includes the records of communication and not the contents of the messages.
The company said Friday that it has launched an investigation and engaged with cybersecurity experts to understand the nature and scope of the criminal activity.
AT&T said Friday, “The data does not contain the content of calls or texts, personal information such as Social Security numbers, dates of birth, or other personally identifiable information,” even though the contents we’re disclosed, customers don’t seem to care and are pissed off, one customer posted on X “@ATT get your sh*t together!”
The stolen data includes records from May 2022 and October 2022 and a small number of customer records from Jan. 2, 2023.
