(Blanco, TX) – Actress Shelley Duvall has passed away at the age of 75. Reports say she died in her sleep as a result of complications associated with diabetes.
Duvall is best known for her role in “The Shining,” the 1980 psychological thriller in which she co-starred alongside Jack Nicholson. Directed by Hollywood legend Stanley Kubrick, he and Duvall reportedly had a strained relationship while on set. Duvall even later said during interviews the nearly year-long filming in Colorado left her with significant mental issues.
In addition to that now iconic role, Duvall is also known for playing Olive Oyl alongside Robin Williams in the live action version of “Popeye” — and for appearing in “Thieves Like Us,” as well as “McCabe & Mrs. Miller.”
