(New York, NY) – Ask 100 New Yorkers where to get the Big Apple’s best burger, and you’ll get 100 different answers. But many agree — the West Village’s Corner Bistro makes a darn good burger. And so it was surprising and upsetting when it was brought to our attention that the eatery has brown paper over its windows. A call to the listed phone number says the line has been disconnected.
So, what gives? Is the Corner Bistro closed, undergoing renovations, or possibly moving locations? An email to the restaurant has gone unanswered as of Tuesday. We’ve also contacted several officials and prominent members of the city’s restaurant community to try and get answers. Yet at least for the time being, the juicy, flavorful burger closely associated with the big red neon sign is unavailable.
That said — the Corner Bistro is still listed on Goldbelly — a gourmet food site that allows people to order delicacies over the web from far-flung locations.
