(New York, New York) – The NYC banker who was accused of punching a woman after an argument regarding the conflict in Israel surrendered himself to police. Jonathan Kaye went viral on social media for rocking the girl last month. The woman, who identified herself as Micah P. uploaded the video moments after the attack saying, “This guy punched me in the face today and broke my nose and busted up my friend’s arm, can anyone find him?”
Four people from a group described as either “Queers for Palestine” or “Trans for Palestine” allegedly surrounded Kaye after he spoke out defending Israel. Kaye, who is Jewish, called the group “useful idiots” and started walking away to which the girl responded asking Kaye to repeat himself, he then walked back towards the group where the girl then splashed water on him leading for Kaye to swing .
The man is believed to work at Moelis & Company in Midtown and has been working there since 2013. The multi-billion dollar company released a statement saying, “We have become aware that one of our employees was involved in a serious incident in Brooklyn on June 8. We take this matter very seriously and are conducting an ongoing investigation”.
Kaye faces two counts each of assault and menacing in the third degree, misdemeanors, and one count of second-degree harassment.
