(New York, New York) – A California inmate on-the-run for 13 years was found here in New York last month. Police say Eduardo Hernandez was behind bars for an armed carjacking when he made his escape in 2011 by walking out the front door of the prison, 6 years into his prison sentence. The law caught up with Hernandez here in the concrete jungle in late May. There is no word what Hernandez was up, and how he was taking care of himself while on the lam. He was originally scheduled to be paroled in June 2026. Hernandez is now being extradited back to California where his case will be referred to the Solano County District Attorney for possible escape charges.
