(New York, New York) – New York subway riders have been left questioning their hearing after an unexplainable hidden bell has been chiming with no remorse for weeks leaving riders and workers covering their ears. The NY Post says the bell which resembles a classic school bell has taken over the downtown 1 train platform at the 50th Street subway station and no one knows where the sound is coming from.
Throughout the day, the bell grows louder and quieter, throwing a curveball to New Yorkers in the area who say they’ve heard the ringing since late June. Some workers and business owners noticed the bell and decided to keep their door closed to block out the racket.
