(Deer Park, NY) – Four people are dead, and nine are injured after a minivan crashed into a nail salon on Long Island. It happened at Hawaii Nail and Spa on Grand Blvd in a strip mall in Deer Park before 5:00pm Friday. Officials say it appears the driver of a minivan drove all the way through the building, trapping employees and customers. Deer Park Assistant Fire Chief Dominic Albanese said all of those killed were inside the nail salon. The driver was transported partially conscious to the hospital. One of the injured victims had to be airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center. Ten departments and multiple ambulances were involved.
It is not clear what caused the minivan to go out of control. This is a developing story.
