Is it too late to dump President Biden?

(Washington, D.C.) — The first presidential debate of the 2024 season was arguably unlike anything the nation has ever seen before. President Biden stumbled and seemed to lose his way as he tried to answer questions and rebut former President Donald Trump’s accusations. Biden’s performance has sparked deep concern among Democratic party leaders over his age and ability to take on Trump in November.

Vice President Kamala Harris defended President Biden’s debate performance. She says she felt Biden had a “slow start, but a strong finish.” Harris says Biden wanted to debate based on facts and truths, while Trump was focused on pushing lies and distracting voters from the damage he has caused.

California Governor Gavin Newsom, who many believe may one day run for the White House  is dismissing reports that Democrats are in panic mode after President Biden’s debate performance.  He says the President was not at his best Thursday night, but believes he can come back from the poor showing at a second debate in the Fall.

Insiders say there is no way President Biden can be thrown off the ticket. There are Democratic National Committee rules in place. Biden won around 95 percent of the Democratic delegates during the  primaries, but there’s no legal requirement that they vote for Biden this summer during the Democratic convention in Chicago. Democrats horrified by President Biden’s performance say the best chance they have at replacing him is if he declines his party’s nomination.
