Round Two Thursday, After Fireworks Website Fail

syndication-the-record-185

The 2024 Macy's July 4 Fireworks will be fired over the Hudson River after the previous 10 shows were done along the East River.

(New York, NY) – After a website snafu on Wednesday, New York City will attempt to give away more free tickets to watch the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks show on Thursday. The website NYCJuly4.com crashed when one million people attempted to access it.

There were plans to giveaway 10,000 tickets — but only 2,000 were distributed. So beginning 10:00 AM on Thursday the site will re-open and the remaining 8,000 will be given away. The tickets allow viewers entry to Pier 45 and Pier 84 — along the Hudson River — as the fireworks will be fired there as opposed to the East River, for the first time in 10 years.

Tickets are being distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each New Yorker is allowed one per person. The site crashed within the first five minutes of it going live on Wednesday.
