(Lakewood, NJ) — Neighbors in Lakewood, New Jersey are in shock after cops cuffed a local mom Tuesday night for drowning her two daughters in a bathtub. Police say 37-year-old Naomi Elkins was taken into custody and slapped her with a slew of charges, including murder for the deaths of her two children.
First responders raced to the Shenandoah Avenue home around 5 p.m. and tried their best to revive the girls who were one and three-years-old. One of the children had reportedly been stabbed too. Both children were pronounced dead at the scene.
Elkins was taken into custody at the scene without incident. She was transported to the Ocean County Jail, where she is waiting to go before a judge.
