(Newark, NJ) — School leaders in Newark are trying to figure out who gave the green light to a bikini basketball tournament at West Side High. They say they only found out about the planned game after a promotional video for the “NBA Baddies” went viral. The basketball tournament was set to feature bikini clad basketball players competing in a tournament with a $10,000 cash prize. The tourney was only cancelled after parents complained.
Parent want to know why and how the promotional video for the event was taped during school hours. It was recorded inside the gym where the West Side High-Roughriders play their games. In the video, a referee can be seen explaining how the July 21st tournament will work as women dance provocatively nearby. The Newark school district says it’s investigating.
