(New York, NY) – There continues to be a significant amount of “buzz” and headlines surrounding bird flu. But it’s still not clear how likely it is to become a widespread pandemic. In these years following COVID-19, Americans are understandably both wary and concerned over such reports. Well, according to a familiar face, bid flu could definitely be the next pandemic.
Dr. Robert Redfield, the former CDC director, made that assertion during a recent interview with NewsNation. He maintained it’s not a question of “if” but rather “when” regarding a bird flu pandemic.
The World Health Organization just recently announced the first-ever reported human death from bird flu — in Mexico. US officials have identified the disease in cattle. Dr. Redfield predicted a much higher mortality rate for bird flu in humans, when compared to COVID-19.
