(New York, NY) – Former tennis star Serena Williams is is refusing to discuss her relationship with former president Donald Trump after she was named a frequent name on his call log at his criminal trial. The interview was published in The New York Times, and in the piece Williams was directly asked about being in contact with the former President.

Williams responded that she talked with many presidents including Obama, Clinton and Reagan. When pressed on why they wanted to speak with Williams she said she did not know and wasn’t interested in exploring it further. The relationship came to light at the trial when a former Trump aide, Madeleine Westerhout, took the witness stand disclosing a list of people he spoke with frequently in 2017 which included Serena Williams.

Williams is also rumored to have let Trump score a point when they played a match in April 2015, celebrating a new tennis center at Trump’s golf club in Sterling, Virginia. That was the same summer, Trump announced his bid for the White House.
