(Las Vegas, NV) – Waiters, valet drivers, delivery workers, and others who earn the majority of the living via tips were paying close attention to comments from former President Trump over the weekend. Trump says if he wins the presidency yet again, he’ll look to end taxes on tips and gratuities.
He made the comments Sunday in Las Vegas during a campaign rally. Of course the entertainment-based economy in Las Vegas is heavily reliant on tips. Nevada is also a battleground state, so it’s of note that Trump would announce such a policy position there. Trump asserted that eliminating taxes on tips would be the first thing he’d do in office if he takes back the White House. The former president had not mentioned such a policy previously.
