(Tel Aviv) — Israel Defense Forces say four hostages who were kidnapped by Hamas have been freed in a special military operation. The IDF says 25-year-old Noa Argamani, 21-year-old Almog Meir Jan, 27-year-old Andrey Kozlov and 40-year-old Shlomi Ziv were all kidnapped by Hamas on October 7th at the Nova music festival, and were found today at two locations in central Gaza. All four are reportedly in good condition and were taken to a medical center near Tel Aviv for further examination.
An Israeli police officer, who served in the special counterterrorism unit that freed the hostages was wounded. He died a short time later at an Israeli hospital.
The Israeli public has been pressuring it’s government to recover the more than 100 hostages still held in the Gaza Strip. There have been weekly protests calling on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to come up with a plan to bring them home.
