(Washington D.C.) – The embattled hip hop mogul, Sean “Diddy” Combs, continues facing backlash following the release of a video that showed him assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura in 2016. On Friday, HBCU Howard University announced that it was severing ties with the owner of “Bad Boy Records”.
The school released a statement saying that the Board of Trustees came to the joint decision that they are accepting the return of the honorary degree that he was given in 2014, just two years prior to the assault caught on camera. Howard is also moving to disband the scholarship under Comb’s name and revoked all privileges associated with the degree and recognition from the university.
A pledge of $1 million dollars is also being refused by the school. Combs and the university reached a 2023 deal where he would set up a fund under his foundation. However, there have not been any monetary contributions as of yet, so the school says that no money is being returned to Combs.
