(Jersey City, NJ) — It’s primary day in New Jersey. Congressman Andy Kim is expected to easily win the Democratic nomination for Senator. A total of three Democrats, Patricia Campos-Medina, Lawrence Hamm and Kim are running on the Democratic ballot. Four Republicans, Curtis Bashaw, Albert Harshaw, Justin Murphy and Christine Serrano Glassner are hoping to secure the GOP nomination for Senator. Senator Bob Menendez, who is on trial for bribery says he will run for re-election as an Independent come November.
Another closely watched race is in the 8th Congressional District where Senator Menendez’s son, Congressman Rob Menendez is running against Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla. Bhalla has tried to tie Senator Menendez’s bribery trial to his son. In the 9th District, Longtime Paterson Congressman Bill Pascrell Jr. is facing one of the biggest challenges of his career from Prospect Park Mayor Mohamed Khairullah.
