(New York, New York) – The Israel Day Parade went off without a hitch his past weekend as 45,000 marchers chanted “Bring them home now!” in reference to the hostages being held by Hamas. They waved Israeli flags as they marched up Fifth Avenue. In the past years, the day was used to celebrate Israel, but this year it was used to show support and solidarity.

A masked counter protester at the Israel Day Parade held up a sign that read, ‘Kill Hostages Now’. The man wore a black ski mask, and a Palestinian flag. The man was quickly surrounded by NYPD officers.

The demonstration brought heightened security. Including, K-9 units, bike patrols, fencing, barriers and designated entry points for spectators along the parade route.
