NJ Officials Warn of Skyrocketing Syphilis Rates

syndication-springfield-4

(Trenton, NJ) – It would appear as though the rate of sexually transmitted disease is on the rise in the Garden State. Federal officials say data from 2022 shows syphilis cases have nearly doubled inside of four years time.

That’s the most recent data available, as compiled by the Department of Health.

The highest rates of syphilis can be found in three South Jersey towns — two of them along the shore. Neptune Township, Egg Harbor Township, and Merchantville — in Camden County — have New Jersey’s highest syphilis rates.
