(New York, New York) – Former President Donald Trump was found guilty Thursday of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. Some New Yorkers celebrated and danced along the streets, shedding tears of joy after the verdict. One woman said she couldn’t believe Trump was ‘finally’ being held accountable. Other New Yorkers say they were upset believing the whole case was a big sham. One man said, “this is the day New York dies”.

Trump’s legal team says it is “considering all options” regarding an appeal to his conviction. Attorney Will Scharf said on Fox News that the case had “reversible error going back to the very first day,” and that an appeal is coming as soon as possible. When he was asked if an appeal may be brought to the U.S. Supreme Court, Scharf added that everything was on the table. Trump could face four years in prison depending on the judge’s sentence, which is set for July 11th. The judge has the discretion to reduce his sentence to a fine, probation or supervision.

Trump is asking his supporters to join him in a “fight for America.” He posted a video on social media asking people to join what he called “the final battle.” He told his supporters he wants to “demolish the deep state,” “expel the warmongers,” and “drive out the globalists” from the country. Trump also used the verdict as an opportunity to fundraise, sending out an email asking people for their support.
