Pro-Trump supporters gather in front of the barricades surrounding the park across the street from the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse.
A group of Trump supporters were camped outside the Manhattan Courthouse awaiting a verdict in the alleged hush money trial of the former President. They were joined by a handful of anti-Trump demonstrators also making their presence known with signs saying phrases like “Lock Him Up”.
People outside the courthouse that have spoken with WABC had some serious doubts that Trump will be found guilty. One supporter of Trump says if the former President is found guilty beyond any reasonable doubt, we will see “acts of God” in the forms of super storms. Another Trump supporter predicted a revolt or riot right here in the Big Apple if the jury of 12 New Yorkers returns a guilty verdict.
It is not quite clear how the public will be informed about the verdict. The deliberations are all happening behind closed doors and the verdict will be handed down to Judge Juan Merchan in a private note.
The jury met for several hours on their own before prosecutors and Trump were called back to the courtroom. Members of the jury asked four questions about the testimonies from ex-Trump lawyer, Michael Cohen, and the former publisher of The National Inquirer, David Pecker. The judge was also requested to re-state the jury instructions. Court resumes today at 9:30 AM.
