(New York, NY) – The Manhattan District Attorney that brought the so-called hush money case against Former President Donald Trump says he did his job by the book and followed the law. He spoke shortly after the jury in the case returned a guilty verdict on all 34 felony charges.

Bragg declined to comment on the possibility of jail time or other punishments that could be faced by Trump. He says that will all play out in court as Judge Juan Merchan is the one with the power to reduce any sentence to fines, probation or supervision. Sentencing is set for July 11th just days ahead of the GOP National Convention, where Trump is presumed to be named as the party’s nominee for the November election.

Bragg says that the jury system is a “cornerstone” of the judicial process. He went on to say that the 12 jurors paid careful attention to the evidence of the case that resulted in the conviction.

Trump is expected to appeal this verdict, and says that it was a very disgraceful day for the country.
