(New York, NY) – Mayor Adams says New York City has never revoked a key to the city before. But it could happen. After video emerged showing music mogul Sean “P Diddy” Combs assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Adams says the city is considering it.
It was during a ceremony in Times Square last year when Adams gave hip-hop producer and rapper Diddy the key to the city. Combs now finds himself under investigation for sex trafficking — in addition to claims from his ex-girlfriend Cassie that he was violent and abusive. They reached a settlement of some kind, previously.
Over the weekend Combs published a video expressing his regret and saying he’s sorry following the video’s release. Cassie’s camp blasted the statement. And Mayor Adams says the video is disturbing and a far cry from last year’s celebration. City Hall and Adams are huddling to decide the next steps.
