A deadly end to to a police chase in Brooklyn

(New York, NY) — Police are searching for a hit and run driver who mowed down a 71-year-old woman and her her 44-year-old daughter in Bushwick, Brooklyn last night.  The senior passed way, her daughter is in critical condition. Police say they had been pursuing the driver with their lights on when the hit took place at the intersection of Eldert Street and Knickerbocker Avenue around 5 p.m. The two women were hit as they walked together in the intersection. Police raced to help the injured women, and as they did the driver they had been chasing jumped out of his car and ran away.

Police brought in search dogs to help find the driver, and sent officers into the nearby Halsey Street subway station. He is still on the loose.
