(New York, NY)Â — Harvey Weinstein is expected back in a Manhattan courtroom today. Prosecutors say they intend to re-try Weinstein after his 2020 rape conviction was overturned by the New York Court of Appeals last week. It was tossed because of issues with testimony allowed at trial. Survivors were not happy with the 4-3 ruling. One of Weinstein’s lawyers said the movie mogul was shocked to learn of the decision.
The 72-year-old Weinstein was hospitalized over the weekend for testing due to medical issues. He was taken to a hospital to be examined on Saturday, but he was sent back to Rikers Island jail on Sunday. He remains in custody due to a separate rape conviction from California.
