(New York, NY) – After the Piano Man’s fans revolted in outrage on Sunday night, CBS has said they will try to make things right. After attempting to air Joel’s MSG concert special this weekend, things went awry. The concert’s airing was delayed 30 minutes by coverage of the Masters Tournament, and then got cut off in order to air the local news.
Joel was actually in the middle of his iconic song the “Piano Man” when the screen cut away to news. Fans took to social media to express their anger and CBS apologized, noting the response from Joel’s “legion of fans.” The show celebrates the singer-songwriter’s residency at Madison Square Guarden, which comes to and end this year.
The performance, filmed March 28 to mark Joel’s 100th MSG residency performances, will air in its entirety on CBS April 19 at 9:00 PM.
