Listen Live Monday morning at 9:15AM. Sid will interview Pablo Sandoval!
Pablo has inked a deal with the Staten Island FerryHawks of the independent Atlantic League, as reported by Jon Heyman of the New York Post. This move marks another significant stride in Sandoval’s journey back to the field following his absence from the 2023 season.
Throughout his illustrious career spanning 14 Major League seasons, Sandoval predominantly wore the colors of the Giants, etching his name as a Bay Area icon. He played a pivotal role in the Giants’ “Even Year” era, which witnessed the team clinch World Series titles in 2010, 2012, and 2014. As a third baseman, Sandoval showcased his prowess at the plate, boasting an impressive .344/.389/.546 batting line across 167 postseason plate appearances. His standout performances, notably in the latter two championship campaigns, solidified his legacy. The pinnacle of his postseason heroics came in 2012 when he clinched the World Series MVP accolade, propelled by a staggering 1.654 OPS in 17 plate appearances, highlighted by three home runs in Game 1 of the Fall Classic.
