(New York, NY) — New York City Emergency Management issued a Travel Advisory with an additional 2 to 3 inches of rain expected into Thursday. It could cause minor flooding in poor drainage and low-lying areas. Trucks will be banned Wednesday on New York City bridges beginning at 10am due to high winds in the forecast. MTA Bridges and Tunnels will ban empty tractor-trailers and tandem trucks or coupled trucks on its seven bridges. Forecasters say the storm begins to move out on Thursday, and colder air streams in.
Millions are under tornado watches today as a storm system begins to move east out of the Ohio Valley. Most of those are in Georgia, but thousands are without power in Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Kentucky. Several tornadoes were reported across the region Tuesday evening, with at least one death in Oklahoma. The storm is expected to move into New England later today.
