March 30, 2024 marks the 60th anniversary for the iconic game show known as Jeopardy! Pictured is longtime host Alex Trebek, who hosted Jeopardy! for 37 seasons -- from its revival in 1984 until his death in 2020.

(Culver City, CA) – For 60 years, TV watchers have enjoyed the now-iconic game show known as “Jeopardy!”. First created by talk show host and game show pioneer Merv Griffin, the program quickly became a staple of daytime television. The original host of “Jeopardy!” was Art Fleming, with Don Pardo as studio announcer.

After its initial run ended in 1975, “Jeopardy!” became an evening game show — and re-debuted in 1984 with Alex Trebek as owner. He hosted the show for 37 seasons before his death in 2020. Now, Ken Jennings — one of the game’s most successful contestants — serves as the main host.

According to the show’s executive producer, it’s truly “remarkable” that what was “created all that time ago” is the “game we put on the air today.” So, Saturday March 30, 2024 marks the beginning of the 60th Diamond Celebration. Live “Jeopardy!” events are behind held nationwide, a new “Jeopardy! Bar Trivia” game is being promoted, and the show is calling on more people to take the “Jeopardy! Anytime Test” online — in a bid to get more contestants going forward.
