(Massapequa Park, NY)  — There will be lots of tears on Long Island Thursday and Friday as the first wake for NYPD cop Jonathan Diller takes place . The 31-year-old was shot and killed during a traffic stop in Far Rockaway Queens on Monday evening. On Wednesday night, Diller’s neighbors in Massapequa Park showed up in mass at a vigil to honor his life. There was a second vigil near the crime scene in Queens.  Diller was on the force for three years. He leaves behind a wife and an almost 1-year-old son. A GoFundMe page for the officer’s family has already raised more than $350,000.

Former President Donald Trump and Mayor Eric Adams are among the thousands expected to pay their respects to the family Thursday and Friday at Diller’s wake. The funeral service for Officer Diller will be held at Saint Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Massapequa on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. 50,000 officers from around the nation are expected to attend . His burial will take place at Saint Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
